Research on Phosphocalcic Status in Sows Reared in Semi-Intensive System in Different Periods of Gestation

Adriana Amfim Adriana, Violeta Elena Simion Simion

Abstract

Metabolic monitoring phosphocalcic level was performed on a group of gestating sows in month IIIrd and IVrd of gestation. The research was conducted  in a pig farm which is part of  a growing household-annex of semi-intensive type, in Prahova countyin. The aim of the research was to assess the correlation between serum calcium and phosphorus levels and two period of sows gestation. In order to estimate the level of calcium and phosphorus to gestating sows comparatively, was taken into account of the reference values of serum calcium (10 ± 1) and serum phosphorus (7 ± 1), hypocalcemia and hypophosphatemia grades and to express normal limits. Following the metabolic tests of the gestating sows batch in months III, IV calcium and phosphorus values varied depending on the stage of gestation.
